University sponsorship was found by COHU for 12 Aboke Girls, to continue their studies after returning from LRA captivity. All were abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army from St. Mary’s Secondary School in Aboke on October 10, 1996. Most returned from captivity 8 years later in 2004. All were given sponsorship to complete their secondary schooling by Els de Temmerman, Belgian author of “The Aboke Girls” but none were able to continue without financial support.
Help is still needed to pay school fees
for the 18 children of the Aboke girls born in captivity.
